LOL, nah I'm not gonna make such a serious military style entry. :P
Anyways, yesterday was MSC Finals where the top 5 finalist battled it out in front of a massive crowd. The top 5 are Ash Musafer from Sri Lanka, Joy Saikesam from Thailand, Truc Nguyen from Vietnam, Henry Wang from China and me representing Malaysia.
The theme for the MSC finals? Australian food with a twist of your country's own flavor added into it.
The main mystery ingredient?
L for LAMB
C for Cutlets
LAMB CUTLETS that is!
The final judgement and scores were very close but I manage to secure the 'Glorious Golden Grandma's Wooden Spoon' as the AIESEC peeps call it. Joy's score was just 1 point away from mine. Everyone did great and I really had loads of fun!

I was very darned determined to win this final showdown. The day before the competition, all of us were informed about the mystery ingredient. Off to Safeway I go to get the herbs and some 'special' ingredients to practice at home.
Through trial and error and Yi's valuable advice, the experimental batch turned out pretty good. What I had in mind for my dish would be two sides and one main. The sides being a simple salad and the other, asparagus wrapped in prosciutto.

On the day of the competition while I was on the train heading towards Monash, I scribbled about the ingredients, steps and layout of my dish. A little way to remind me of what needs to be done as I don't have very good memory.
Alright, I think I'll let the pictures do the talking from now cause I may bore you all. Hahaha :D
The contestants being interviewed etc...
One small group pic before facing off.
Me giving thumbs up for my dish.
Waiting for the results to be annouced.
My turn to dance. What move did I use for a novice. But of course, the chicken licken dance.
The MC said: well you sure know how to cook, but you ain't good at dancing.
Nani... -__-
Met up with the KK peeps after that.
Btw, it's Arj's 21st Birthday!
Happy Birthday chocolate man. Hahaha, hope he and the girls didn't get too drunk at the Se7en club last night. :)
It's good to be surrounded by friends and loved ones.
Blessed to have you guys around to support and cheer me on.
That's all for now, God bless!
Ming out!

hi there, i'm quite interested in cooking and taking my cooking to a new level.
I like how you presented your dish and would like to find out how you came up with it. Are there books or resources you can recommend on food presentation?
i sure would like to win a food competition some day :)
Denise: Thanks Denise! :D
Anon: Well for the presentation and recipes you can get them from the cookbooks and also from the internet. For the presentation I typed 'fine dining' in Google Images and voila!
For me, my strength in cooking would be western food and typically I would refer to Jamie Oliver's recipes. I also check out www.hungerhunger.blogspot.com for some. Think of cooking as chemistry, experiment around with a bit of herbs to give the dish a round house kick of a taste. :D
