...of my preteen/teen days where Yi would come back home and play these hip chinese songs on the hi-fi. And when she's not at home, I would take the cd, put into the hi-fi and try sing along with it.
I didn't know what these songs meant really but I just liked the tunes. But now listening to them... they are all super emo songs... but really good emo songs. And I'm glad I can sing em (though my Pin Yin is not that accurate) along with my uni mates from Malaysia and China when we hangout at 'Asian' bars. Hahaha.
It's been like 10 years since I first listened to Jay Chou's 'Ke Ai Nu Ren' and 'Kai Bu Liao Kou' and I can still sing the whole song. Apart from Jay, songs such as 'Ai De Hao Lei' and ' Wo Ai De Ren' by Jordan Chan's (another emo artist) are also stuck in my head.
Here's a song by Jay. Have a listen!
P/S: The song playing on my blog by default is by Jordan Chan called 'Wo Ai De Ren'
I highly recommend you to check out video and the lyrics and translate it to english if you want to know what the song is about.
