Hey, hey!
Science is AWESOME!
Before I go on I want to make things clear. I'm NOT a business representative of NS... but you guys MUST go out and get hold on the New Scientist magazine NOW!
I mean now! It's only 7 bucks!
Break your piggy bank, not enough? Break your mom's piggy bank and while your at it break your grandmama's piggy bank too.
Hahaha, I'm just joking folks. But seriously... do get one every month. >:)
As some of you may know, scientific information/facts is what attracts a Ming. Heck, I even read it till I sleep in bed(probably got this habit from Diddy :P) like those bed time stories... though mine is filled with nebula, dark matter and science chicks. Hahaha.
Here are some facts for you guys!
1. 90% of people with leukemia can be treated with Arsenic Trioxide which are also extremely deadly towards humans! Word!
2. A brown dwarf(I'm not talking about the ones in Snow White)/dark sun are special stars that appear as a 'dark sun' in a starry daytime sky. Freaky!

Btw, 2 nights ago I had a nightmare about our Sun eerily getting larger till the point that our beautiful blue sky was all red and everything around was either burning or melting! O__o Jason said it was a sign. Right...
3. Diamonds are the best heat conductors on Earth!
4. The Hubble will be replaced by a more advanced space probe dubbed 'James Webb Space Telescope' by 2014. So far most of the pictures of the Milky Way, nebulas, stars etc... are all taken by the Hubble.
Here's a pic of the Butterfly Nebula!
A beauty ain't it?
5. Oh here's a cool one! The human limit! What is the ultimate human speed limit? Each and every passing year, runners seem to break previous 100m running records. The current world's fastest 100m runner is Usain Bolt who crossed the finish line at 9.58 seconds!
But based on scientific research on animals used in racing such as horses in horse racing, they seem to max out one point in time. Like human runners, they too performed and improved steadily till they reached their limit.
This is due to simple power-to-weight ratio theory. Beyond a certain point, the benefits of stronger muscles and longer limbs will be offset by the increased energy required to shift the greater load.
So what is the expected limit for the 100m event? 9.48 seconds! A mere 0.1 second difference from the current record. Dang!
Well, hope you guys enjoyed the AWESOME facts, cause I certainly did! :D
Till next time!
Ming signing out!
