DAYAKs here we GO!!!

Right now, we have 5 teams from our church doing the race! TO raise up charity and donate it to the people in India who need it! Blessing people is something I LOVE, even if it's just a smile of gratitude in return. That's more than enough for me!

The teams are DAYAKs, KEWties, Micah68, Cruiser and team Last Minute.

We've finally made our shirts with the DAYAK picture on it! We've bought loads of power bars, chocolate bars and some power gels (I think)! It's gonna be a long 5-7 hours non-stop jog for us up at the Dandenong ranges, gonna be plain awesomeness. It's expected to be around 12C tomorrow morning(sejuk!). =S

Here's our DAYAK pic.

And it's hand drawn!!!

We're planning to take pictures of the entire team at every 5KM stop, I'm sure you'll notice many differences along the way from the start to the finishing line.

The team could end up being like this...

A. Strong(Starting point)--> Doing good-->Slowing down-->Weak-->Dead(Finish line)...

or

B. Strong-->Strong-->Strong-->Strong-->Strong...

Like I said, we'll see!
Wish us luck!

Will be posting it all up real soon so stay tuned!
God Bless and have an awesome weekend ahead!

BiS: 03

My house church and I just had an awesome time with Aunty Quilin. Had dinner, great dessert and of course awesome bible study and sharing.

A few things I would love to point out to my dear readers.
Some of us(like me) are so privileged to have Christian parents! It's an easy start for us to build a stronger, mightier temple for God without first clearing the land(generations of idol worshipping, curses etc...).

Like some friends of mine, they had to struggle with their parents in order to live a Christian life to the point they were driven out of their own home by their own parents just because they want to know the Lord!

For me, I already have this blessing when I was born on this Earth.
My parents struggled for me, for my siblings.
And I won't let that go to waste!

Like Aunty Quilin said, if you give an architect two options between renovating an old house or a cleared up land... which would the architect choose?

The answer is obvious.

The only problem is, we as 2nd generation Christians... we take things for granted.
The land that was cleared for us by our parents, we should build a temple which could soar through the skies for God, but instead a lot of us take things for granted and build rotten things on the given space.

Our worldly desires hinder our vision. We only have one life, one fragile life to live. Let us not screw it up for temporary pleasures/desires as in the end, we all will be judged by our actions.

Instead, let us sharpen ourselves like a two-edged sword and prepare ourselves for battles with the enemy whenever and wherever he may strike!

The Devil is cunning and mischievous, but let us always be prepared.

Here's the verses we shared today over at Aunty Quilins'

Isaiah 49:1-6

That's all for today! The DAYAKs are bulking up with carbs for the 50KM run. The weather ain't too good and we may run in 14C weather on Saturday morning. But all will be exciting and of course FUN!

Good night peeps!
God bless you all!

The World Without Engineers

Ever wondered what the world would be like without us engineers?
To be more specific, I'm talking about ELECTRICAL engineers! :D

Without us ECS engineers, you won't be enjoying a lot of electrical gadgets we have today!

iPods, computers, telephone networks, TV...
You name it, we made it.

Here are some pictures to illustrate the importance of engineering and what the world could have faced without us around!

No telephone networks?
No TV?
No iPod? No Walkman? How bout a Dragman? LOL

So, when you see an engineer, give him a pat at the back and thank him for making this world an awesome-r place to live in. :D

Hahahahaha!

BiS: 02

For this week, I'm covering the book of Matthew.

Here are 2 short verses from Chapter 5 I would love to share with you.

Matthew 5 : Verse 7-8
Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

A Brother of mine who shared with us during an OCF gathering said,
'It's never a sin to be tempted, it is when we give in to temptation, we sin.'

Just a food for thought for you all!

Gonna have dinner at Aunty Quilin's tonight. Man, I love being an international uni student. :P

God bless and have a great week!

Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime

I would love to share with you one of my favorite songs, actually almost of all of them are my fav from the Phantom of the Opera.

This is actually taken from the movie and the singers are not as awesome as the ones from the real Phantom of the Opera play.

When I listen to music, the melody and lyrics are the most important to me even if it's just played by one instrument. So for this, I would like you guys in immerse yourself with the lovely melody and listen to every word that is sung.

It's beautiful, isn't it?

If you guys wanna sing along(like me).. here are the lyrics.

------------------------------------------------------------------
RAOUL
No more talk
of darkness,
Forget these
wide-eyed fears.
I'm here,
nothing can harm you -
my words will
warm and calm you.

Let me be
your freedom,
let daylight
dry -your tears.
I'm here,
with you, beside you,
to guard you
and to guide you . . .

CHRISTINE
Say you love me
every
waking moment,
turn my head
with talk of summertime . . .

Say you need me
with you,
now and always . . .
promise me that all
you say is true -
that's all I ask
of you . . .

RAOUL
Let me be
your shelter,
let me
be your light.
You're safe:
No-one will find you
your fears are
far behind you . . .

CHRISTINE
All I want
is freedom,
a world with
no more night . . .
and you
always beside me
to hold me
and to hide me . . .

RAOUL
Then say you'll share with
me one
love, one lifetime . . .
Iet me lead you
from your solitude . . .

Say you need me
with you
here, beside you . . .
anywhere you go,
let me go too -
Christine,
that's all I ask
of you . . .

CHRISTINE
Say you'll share with
me one
love, one lifetime . . .
say the word
and I will follow you . . .

BOTH
Share each day with
me, each
night, each morning . . .

CHRISTINE
Say you love me . . .

RAOUL
You know I do . . .

BOTH
Love me -
that's all I ask
of you . . .

Anywhere you go
let me go too . . .
Love me -
that's all I ask
of you . .
------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope you guys enjoyed it! Will keep you guys updated on the main events soon.
Have a great weekend!

God bless! ;)

New Scientist

Hey, hey!
Science is AWESOME!

Before I go on I want to make things clear. I'm NOT a business representative of NS... but you guys MUST go out and get hold on the New Scientist magazine NOW!
I mean now! It's only 7 bucks!

Break your piggy bank, not enough? Break your mom's piggy bank and while your at it break your grandmama's piggy bank too.

Hahaha, I'm just joking folks. But seriously... do get one every month. >:)

As some of you may know, scientific information/facts is what attracts a Ming. Heck, I even read it till I sleep in bed(probably got this habit from Diddy :P) like those bed time stories... though mine is filled with nebula, dark matter and science chicks. Hahaha.

Here are some facts for you guys!
1. 90% of people with leukemia can be treated with Arsenic Trioxide which are also extremely deadly towards humans! Word!

2. A brown dwarf(I'm not talking about the ones in Snow White)/dark sun are special stars that appear as a 'dark sun' in a starry daytime sky. Freaky!

Btw, 2 nights ago I had a nightmare about our Sun eerily getting larger till the point that our beautiful blue sky was all red and everything around was either burning or melting! O__o Jason said it was a sign. Right...

3. Diamonds are the best heat conductors on Earth!

4. The Hubble will be replaced by a more advanced space probe dubbed 'James Webb Space Telescope' by 2014. So far most of the pictures of the Milky Way, nebulas, stars etc... are all taken by the Hubble.

Here's a pic of the Butterfly Nebula!
A beauty ain't it?

5. Oh here's a cool one! The human limit! What is the ultimate human speed limit? Each and every passing year, runners seem to break previous 100m running records. The current world's fastest 100m runner is Usain Bolt who crossed the finish line at 9.58 seconds!

But based on scientific research on animals used in racing such as horses in horse racing, they seem to max out one point in time. Like human runners, they too performed and improved steadily till they reached their limit.

This is due to simple power-to-weight ratio theory. Beyond a certain point, the benefits of stronger muscles and longer limbs will be offset by the increased energy required to shift the greater load.

So what is the expected limit for the 100m event? 9.48 seconds! A mere 0.1 second difference from the current record. Dang!

Well, hope you guys enjoyed the AWESOME facts, cause I certainly did! :D

Till next time!
Ming signing out!

Angela & Ying's Birthdays!

Today's paper went well! Oh, I almost missed my 1st paper due to certain uncertainties. LOL

Alright, time to finish this post up as promised! :)
2 birthdays in the 2nd week of April! How epic?

I think I could call myself the event manager. :D
Was looking for places to have the surprise party for both of the beautiful birthday girls.

We splurged quite a bit this month but HEY!, these events only happen once every year, and precious 21st only happens once in our lifetime so why not enjoy?

So yeah, organizing the event with the others to make these 'Princesses' happy brings great fun and also joy when they smile with gratitude. =]

Now... who could the girls be?

Well, browse through the pics in order to find out!
Let the pics roll in!
Get ready for bandwidth over load!
