Just had lectures that lasted non-stop for 5 hours!
Stayed in lecture theater with other 160++ ECE mates for 5 hours listening to lectures defining FDM, TCP, Thevenin's Theorem etc... (these terms are making me nerdy. =3) and funny thing is...
I have a rough general idea and knowledge on most of the protocols taught in ECE2041 telecommunication and ECE2011 signal processing due to the fact this is where my interest lies.
Just some of the things I've jot down from the lectures
I can say that I love ECE and I look forward to every lecture that is to come. Studying what I love really does boost me up! :D
Currently, with my skills, knowledge and interest, I am able to fix most consumer electronic goods. These includes computers, handheld game devices, gaming consoles etc... and it really did help me make some good dough... hmm.... dough..... HAHAHA.
Just a few days ago, I've just added a Modbo v1.1 chip on a customer's PS2 which required some really good soldering skills. I am proud to say that I did an awesome job. *and I made quite a sum from this service that I provide!* :P

PS2 innards

Job done! =3
The Modbo v1.1 chip
With PCs and PS2s needing repair or upgrade, this allows me to have additional source of income which I can spend without feeling guilty. :D
Just this afternoon, I was even called to fix an industrial standard ice maker(cause I don't charge that much ;P) for one of the cafes where I worked. It took me 30 minutes to figure out and fix the darn thing. After it was fixed, I just stared at the mechanisms as they move and make ice cubes on a large scale. I probably stood there staring at it for 5 minutes or so till the owner walked over and asked me if it's fixed.
Motors etc..

Electronics rock! :D
All fixed and ready to make ICE!
Doing my specific degree is the AWESOMESS thing EVER!
Not like PMR or SPM where we are 'forced' to study a general subjects like.... 'sejarah' *ugh...*
But now! I finally get to study what I longed for years!!!
My interest for electrical, electronics and all the programming that comes with it started when I was about 4 or 5. I was a curious kid then, curious in a good way I think.
Grandpa had an old 70's/80's FM radio that he cherished and listened to everyday when the news came up. I was awed by how the radio is able to receive voices that doesn't need direct connections (wires etc..) from it's source to the receiver. I was also amazed by all the knobs and circuit board that was on the back of the old FM radio.
And guess what? 4/5 year old curious Ming dismantled the whole thing. To me, it was like a Christmas present. I opened up the thing slowly, layer by layer, fascinated about what's inside the FM radio.
After about an hour or 2 of 'woos' and 'wahs' of the innards of the radio, I got bored... The only problem is, I didn't know how to re-assemble to whole thing! @@
Was I in for a good old scolding and some buttocks smacks.
So yeah, after that 'disassembling' habit went for bigger devices. But throughout the years I've learned how to disassemble and re-assemble things, so don't worry if you're considering me to fix your electronics. I can say I'm pretty reliable in this field. ;)
Hahaha, so yeah, the point I'm trying to make for my dear readers who aren't in uni yet... study and do what you LOVE, if not you'll be doing that 'other something' for almost 20-30 years of your life... isn't it a waste if it was something you didn't enjoy doing with a 9 to 5 job?
So think about, spot your interest NOW kids! :)
Ming signing off.
Peace out and God bless!
:)
