Love that never fails...

Easter break is just round the corner! :D
When there's an Easter break, there's always.... a EASTER CAMP!

I've finally found myself a new church to settle myself into, after moving to the city.
I love being among people who do not compare themselves with each other on professions, skills, wealth, looks but instead have a common interest... that is to worship the Lord as brothers and sisters in Christ. A lovely community where I can grow and learn with glee.

My dear readers, if you might think you have nothing to give to the Lord, or you might have a broken heart, broken life... It's about time we surrender ourselves to the Lord. Nothing that we have done in the past would make Him close the door. He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wound.

Allow yourself be that kid.

The kid who runs up to the father with a broken toy in his hands, the kid that cries out 'Papa, papa' pleading to the person he loves and trust so that he could help.

Be the kid. Run up to the Lord with whatever you have that is broken in your hands and submit it to the Lord. Let us not put all our trust and support in Men but to the Lord for it is He who first made us and loved us before we were even born.

Here's a little scripture to ponder and remember.

1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Modern translation:
Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Have a great week ahead guys! Remember, it's not only on Sundays we should worship and praise the Lord... instead we should do it every single day for He is the one who breathed life into us.

Stay strong, stay pure.

God bless peeps!

;)

BiS: 01

I was doing Bible study last night and here are a few verses that stood out.
I hope this may inspire you, my awesome readers!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean to your own understanding. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Jesus is the same, yesterday and today and forever.

May that be true in our lives today my dear readers!

God bless and have an awesome week!

:)

Music, wonderful music.

I listen to all sorts of music. Almost all.
The only exception would be heavy metal and all those guitar shredding.
Yeah, they do have skills no doubt. But it doesn't touch the soul like how other music do.
It just sounds like noise instead of melody to me.

I prefer more sentimental music. The type that allows your mind to drift away.
Calm and relax. :)

Here are some songs I would LOVE to share with you guys!

So, turn the volume up and dream away!

Spirited Away - Joe Hisashi

Howl's Moving Castle -Joe Hisashi

Princess Mononoke Theme - Joe Hisashi

These songs are from different animes produced by Studio Ghibli.
If you guys have the time, do watch em. ;)

Article 2

A bro is always entitled to do something stupid,
as long as the rest of his Bros are all doing it.

Note: had Butch Cassidy come charging out of the cabin alone
people would have been like, "Dude, come on." If only one Spanish dude
had decided to run down the street in front of a bunch of angry bulls,
people would've been like,"Dude, come on." If only Tommy Lee had
worn eyeliner in the early days of Motley Crue, people would have been
like,"Lady, come on." The license to be stupid is why we have Bros
in the first place.

The Bro Code!

Men... have a code. A code that only TRUE men follow. It's in-built in us. We are governed by an internalized code of conduct.

Collected from the ends of the Earth by Barney Stinson, he has written down the rules of social decorum that the Bros have followed since the dawn of man.

And now, I'm about to share it with you!
One or two articles a week... or maybe even three. :P

Feast your eyes humans for the ultimate 'BRO' code of conduct, which I, Hong Ming, will present to you.

---Article 1---
Bros before ho's.
The bond between two men is stronger than the bond between a man and a woman because, on average, men are stronger than women. That's just science.

On the other note, catch HIMYM! An awesome series for you comedy seekers! :D

Warwick Avenue

The first time I heard this song, I had a connection with it.
A connection to the lyrics I mean.
It's like how some songs we can relate to our current state of emotion we are in.

Well this is a strong powerful one for me, something that I can relate to my current situation.

To me, it's bitter sweet.

For those people who gave relationship a shot and tried their best, just to be hurt by people who 'Give love a bad name'... you aren't alone.

Like me, we all have to go through the 'Warwick Avenue' experience.
It will hurt, but it's for the better.

:)

Have a listen to the song which was conveniently added to my playlist.

'Warwick avenue' by Duffy

When I get to Warwick Avenue
Meet me by the entrance of the tube
We can talk things over a little time
Promise me you won't stand by the light

When I get to Warwick Avenue
Please drop the past and be true
Don't think we're okay just because I'm here
You hurt me bad but I won't shed a tear

I'm leaving you for the last time baby
You think you're loving but you don't love me
I've been confused, out of my mind lately
You think you're loving but I want to be free
Baby, you've hurt me

When I get to Warwick Avenue
We'll spend an hour but no more than two
Our only chance to speak once more
I showed you the answers, now here's the door

When I get to Warwick Avenue
I'll tell you baby that we're through

I'm leaving you for the last time baby
You think you're loving but you don't love me
I've been confused, out of my mind lately
You think you're loving but you don't love me
I want to be free, baby, you've hurt me

All the days spent together, I wished for better
But I didn't want the train to come
Now it's departed, I'am broken hearted
Seems like we never started

All those days spent together when I wished for better
And I didn't want the train to come! Oh, oh

You think you're loving but you don't love me
I want to be free, baby, you hurt me
You don't love me, I want to be free
Baby, you've hurt me

I LOVE YOU MOREEEEEE!

I love You more than the sun
And the stars that I taught how to shine
You are mine and You shine for me too
I love You
Yesterday
And today
And tomorrow
I'll say it again and again
I love You more

Through the joy
And the pain
I say it again and again
I love You more
I love You more

Thank you Lord for the people who are around me. People who care.
Everyday here on Earth is a blessing!

I pray you would guide people who went astray, and I hope they will choose You because you gave us power to choose.

Lord, I surrender myself unto You. Please wash my sins away. I've repented so many times and I just feel that a simple apology isn't enough compared to the amount of pain that I've caused You.

That is why I'm making an effort! To worship You, speak to You and praise with You.

And lastly Lord, give me a kind and tender loving heart so that I can learn to forgive again. Forgive the person who caused the deepest pain in me.

Amen.

There must be more than this.

I need prayer guys. I'm feeling vulnerable again. Sigh...
Give me strength to move on.

Please, let this wound heal up.
It's turning me into a person that I dislike.

Full of anger, sorrow, down... emo...
I can't be who I was until this fades.
Which I hope it will soon...

Lord, let me love again and make me strong once more.
I need shelter and comfort from You.

Passage of the week!

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

Box em up!

Woke up this morning around 7.30 to get myself ready with the HLFR (Hong, Lu, Fam and Raj) gang for some awesome boxing!

We went to Fighters Factory at Blackburn to do the circuit courses which is a unique fat burning course! For one whole hour, we did speedballs, floor-to-ceiling, bag punching, rope skipping, pushups, pullups and our favorite... 10 minutes of non-stop ab exercise! :)

Here are some pics!
On the way to FF @ Blackburn... ETA 9.15 A.M.
The infamous Fighters Factory owned and run by an ex-champ himself... Murray Thompson.

A queue starting to form for the 9.30 circuit course.

Arj and the girls registering for the course.

The 8.25 circuit team doing their last 3 minutes of the ab exercises.

A peek inside FF.

Chit-chat before the circuit starts.

The girls choosing the ropes for the skipping/push-up session.

3, 2, 1... begin PUNCHING! :D

*woosh, bang, BOOM*

After the class.

Dead tired.

After that, I went home to make some lunch. I've made some grilled portobello mushrooms stuffed with minced beef cooked with Pinot Noir, onion, S&P and a tiny pinch of rosemary then topped with cheese mixture(mozzarella and parmesan).

Before hitting the oven. :)

Makan. :)

Well, that's all for today. Gonna hit the books for like 1 hour before watching HIMYM's latest series..... again... :D

God bless and peace out!

Recap Mon-Thurs

ECS is getting harder and harder. So many equations and theories. Gahhhh!
The other engineering seniors are right about ECS... the maths involved are damn gay. :(

I've been revising the lecture notes every night for like 4 hours a day after getting home. Man, good stuff never comes easy do they? It just really bothers me when I don't get the concepts and when the assistant lecturers just quickly breeze through the slides... very briefly.

Each day is sort of like a little battlefield to me. But all is cool. :)

I like to wind things down after the mind throbbing revisions by pouring myself a glass of either a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Noir. I usually have some soft classical/light music playing off the background while I just gaze and let my mind wander off while enjoying my glass.

I usually reflect on events that happened on that day, and sometimes think about other old times in my life during those quiet moments, just me, the wines, music and night sky.

Sauvignon Blanc(white) on the left and Pinot Noir(red) on the right.

I know my limits so I don't drink much, probably just 3 or 4 ounces every night. Sipping some does help put me to sleep, and hey! It is good for the body too isn't it?

This is how my day ends, but of course with the consistent prayers to the dear Lord every night ever since this January before I go to bed.

Each and everyday.

But hey! Friday is here! And for those who don't know, I have my Fridays off... meaning I don't have any uni classes. :P

I'm free yo! 3 day weekends FTW! Probably gonna sleep in... till like 2P.M.

Nah!

I'll probably wake up around 9 and go for gym, then practice the guitar and band hero with my mates in the afternoon and revision at night... again... and again... till I am satisfied with what I have to know.

LoL

God bless,
Peace out!

:)

Man, having uni 4 days a week DOES have it's disadvantages... like 6-8 hours contact time from 8/9 in the morning.

But I'm alright with it. :)
Cause I ABSOLUTELY love what I'm studying! :D

Guess what peeps, I've just found some OLD photos of me and my DSF mates during our primary school years, courtesy of Andrea Lee.

My mates and I too, were surprised when we saw our primary six photo. In that shot, I wore a green badge that said, 'pengawas'. :P

I was promoted as a 'pengawas' during Primary 6, even though I was known as naughty Ming/Kan Fung Jing boy among the teachers.

I got it probably because... teachers love me. :3

Hahahaha!

Primary 5

Primary 6
Can you guys spot me? ;)

Now, here's some pic of them all grown up! :D

Can you spot who is who?

It's been 11 years since I've known them. And they are still awesome as ever! :)
You guys are truly an amazing bunch to be with! Glad that I've met you guys.

Good friends should be kept and treasured.
Really appreciate the the times we spent together, having the crazy fun road trips, fireworks frenzy and singstar tourney together.

I know you all miss me *ahem*, but I do too. Ha!

:D

Cup of Belgian Chocolate anyone? :)

Off to do some revision and lab prelims.

God bless and peace out!

Golf balls from Heaven!

Awesome.

Autumn is here boys and girls, and for those who are in Melb... you've probably seen/heard/felt the 'golf ball' experience yesterday that lasted for 3-4 hours.

Yes peeps, Autumn came with a bang! I'm not talking about explosions here or the 'bang' bang, but hailstones the size of golf balls.

At first, it sounded like rain... which then sounded like thousands of drummers hitting their snare drums. Straight away the crowd and I knew something was wrong... and we ran for our lives for shelter. The only people who suffered were the drivers and their cars like this RX-8 here. Dents and scratches. Sad.

Well, I'm off to make myself some coffee! Perfect much for this weird awesome weather.

Trying to make a love shape.

That's... so Melbourne. Hahaha

Peace out guys!

Tony Robbins asks why we do what we do | Video on TED.com

An awesome video about why we do what we do, things that lead us to what we did and how can we grab hold on the 'good' things in life so that we can shape a better future for ourself and the community we live in.

A tiny part of the video that really struck me was when Robbin said, when a person who has been emotionally, physically, psychologically or sexually abused or hurt to a great extent, MOST of them contribute more towards society.

I find this pretty true as I have found myself helping out under privileged kids, donating blood to save lives etc... due to what has happened to me in the past. I asked myself why am I doing this, maybe it is because there was already an in-built part of me who wants to help out the community, or maybe I am just looking for more love and joy from another source by helping people and the community out and seeing the smiles on their faces which brightens up my day every time! :D

The past shapes the present. The present shapes the future. Get the right parts, and you'll gain the right results in time. :)

Give yourself a thought. What critical events that happened in your life shaped who you are now? Do you like what you have at the moment? Are you proud of who you are? Also, think about what could have happened if you were given a chance to do something different during those critical moments.

Now get back to the present! Now think what can you do right now in order to live the life YOU want. What can you do in order to achieve what you have lost so dearly?

Peeps, dream BIG and go BOLDLY from here on out!

Peace ya'll!

:)

Techy Me :3 *and I know you love it!*

Just had lectures that lasted non-stop for 5 hours!

Stayed in lecture theater with other 160++ ECE mates for 5 hours listening to lectures defining FDM, TCP, Thevenin's Theorem etc... (these terms are making me nerdy. =3) and funny thing is...

I have a rough general idea and knowledge on most of the protocols taught in ECE2041 telecommunication and ECE2011 signal processing due to the fact this is where my interest lies.

Just some of the things I've jot down from the lectures

I can say that I love ECE and I look forward to every lecture that is to come. Studying what I love really does boost me up! :D

Currently, with my skills, knowledge and interest, I am able to fix most consumer electronic goods. These includes computers, handheld game devices, gaming consoles etc... and it really did help me make some good dough... hmm.... dough..... HAHAHA.

Just a few days ago, I've just added a Modbo v1.1 chip on a customer's PS2 which required some really good soldering skills. I am proud to say that I did an awesome job. *and I made quite a sum from this service that I provide!* :P

PS2 innards

Job done! =3

The Modbo v1.1 chip

With PCs and PS2s needing repair or upgrade, this allows me to have additional source of income which I can spend without feeling guilty. :D

Just this afternoon, I was even called to fix an industrial standard ice maker(cause I don't charge that much ;P) for one of the cafes where I worked. It took me 30 minutes to figure out and fix the darn thing. After it was fixed, I just stared at the mechanisms as they move and make ice cubes on a large scale. I probably stood there staring at it for 5 minutes or so till the owner walked over and asked me if it's fixed.

Motors etc..

Electronics rock! :D

All fixed and ready to make ICE!

Doing my specific degree is the AWESOMESS thing EVER!

Not like PMR or SPM where we are 'forced' to study a general subjects like.... 'sejarah' *ugh...*
But now! I finally get to study what I longed for years!!!

My interest for electrical, electronics and all the programming that comes with it started when I was about 4 or 5. I was a curious kid then, curious in a good way I think.

Grandpa had an old 70's/80's FM radio that he cherished and listened to everyday when the news came up. I was awed by how the radio is able to receive voices that doesn't need direct connections (wires etc..) from it's source to the receiver. I was also amazed by all the knobs and circuit board that was on the back of the old FM radio.

And guess what? 4/5 year old curious Ming dismantled the whole thing. To me, it was like a Christmas present. I opened up the thing slowly, layer by layer, fascinated about what's inside the FM radio.

After about an hour or 2 of 'woos' and 'wahs' of the innards of the radio, I got bored... The only problem is, I didn't know how to re-assemble to whole thing! @@

Was I in for a good old scolding and some buttocks smacks.

So yeah, after that 'disassembling' habit went for bigger devices. But throughout the years I've learned how to disassemble and re-assemble things, so don't worry if you're considering me to fix your electronics. I can say I'm pretty reliable in this field. ;)

Hahaha, so yeah, the point I'm trying to make for my dear readers who aren't in uni yet... study and do what you LOVE, if not you'll be doing that 'other something' for almost 20-30 years of your life... isn't it a waste if it was something you didn't enjoy doing with a 9 to 5 job?

So think about, spot your interest NOW kids! :)

Ming signing off.

Peace out and God bless!

:)

Register ASAP!

3 more days my dear readers to register yourself up to continue reading my blog before I make this blog exclusive.

Here's the link on how to sign-up!

On another note, I fell in love with an awesome song that didn't really go that high up on the charts or billboards. I've been practicing this simple song on my acoustic and electric guitar the past 2 days, it's called 'Show me what I'm looking for' from the album 'Coming to terms' by Carolina Liar.

The song has been conveniently added to my media list for you. =)

Here are the lyrics! :D

'Show me what I'm looking for' by Carolina Liar

wait, i'm wrong
should've done better than this
please, i'll be strong
i'm finding it hard to resist

so show me what i'm looking for

save me, i'm lost
oh Lord i've been waiting for you
i'll pay any cost
save me from being confused
show me what i'm looking for
show me what i'm looking for
oh Lord

don't let go
i've wanted this far too long
mistakes become regrets
i've learned to love abuse
please show me what i'm looking for

save me, im lost
oh Lord i've been waiting for you
i'll pay any cost
save me from being confused
show me what i'm looking for
show me what i'm looking for
oh Lord

show me what i'm looking for
show me what i'm looking for
show me what i'm looking for

save me, im lost
oh lord i've been waiting for you
i'll pay any cost
to save me from being confused
wait, i'm wrong
i can't do better than this
i'll pay any cost
save me from being confused

show me what i'm looking for
show me what i'm looking for
show me what i'm looking for
show me what i'm looking for
oh Lord

Peace out, God bless and have an awesome packed week guys!

Awesome Possum Week!

Alrighty! I'll sum up the events that happened the past few days.

1. Infamous Freshy Pub Crawl and Jenga

Like I said before, I'm not into alcohol and booze. I know the names of em' but I'm not 'INTO' it... get it? :P

Cuz I can't tolerate alcohol that well. Which....! Is a plus too and I AM proud to say I've never gotten drunk! =3

Anyways, before the uni classes commence, each year we do a pub crawl with the freshies. We travel around different pubs and to let them 'familiarize' Melbourne's inner structures. The crawl was only 4 hours long and covered a total of 14 pubs around Melbourne CBD. There were a total of 200 of us! @@

I did drink, but only one can of beer throughout the whole period (was forced to chunk but I refused cuz I have self-control =3) and of course... I went red like a lobster like one of the Caucasian freshy told me. -___-

We all did our Monash and Melbourne U chants while crawling and did an easy to follow group routine for the song TiK ToK. It was great fun overall. Made some new friends, some were seniors and others were juniors. =3

Prince Alfred Pub

Pub crawling to the next stop

Drinks and games.

The group dance! :)

Puggs pub was our last stop for the day.

After the crawl I went back home to chill with my Indo mates. We did basic stuff in my apartment like pool, Wii and of course... good old jenga. ;)

Awesome mates. :D
L to R: Adrian, Felix, Ming, Steven and Hansen

2. The Cook Off

On Saturday, we had a cook off at my place. All of us (except RJ) cooked. I personally whipped up a few dishes myself... and I was proud of the results! :P

Here's the list of who made what!
Ming: Roast chicken with lemon and rosemary, mushroom risotto with shitakke, portobello, button and porcini mushroom and some cripy bacon on top, salad with some smoked salmon and balsamic dressing and finally some hot chocolate with 2 different choco mix (not powdered). =3

Angela Lu: Molten choc with strawberries and cream.

Christina: Apple crumble.

Ying: Stir-fry bean sprout.

Moon: Pancakes with Nutella

Arj: Sky juice... FTW!

We forgot to take pictures of every item cause we were so busy eating. Sowee. :P

But everything turned out AWESOME for that night! Played Wii and we all lost a few cals... I think. Angela owned us with the Hula while Christina did the step up and boxing like nobody's business. Hahaha, but overall last week was AWESOME POSSUM week!

Snooping around, seeing what are the girls making.

Angela and Ying making the choco molt.

Me teaching Christina how to cook the 'perfect' Ming risotto.

Culinary experts at work :D

Makan Makan! ;)

My roasted chicken '1st try'. Not too bad eh? ;D

Girls were watching while the guys were playing 'Bleach'

Christina teaching about the 'step up'

That's all for now!

Gonna practice on my Jenga skills!

Peace out!

:)
