17DL: Met the Goh's and getting my 6920G

I'm really tired. Worked the whole day. Ugh... I was only looking forward when the clock struck 6p.m.

Well, I've finally decided! I'm picking the Aspire 6920G over 4930G due to it's tiny 14.1" LCD that 49 is equipped with. The 6920G is packed with a 16" of 16:9 WXGA HD1080 LCD as it's display! Geeky enough?

Acer Aspire 6920G

For you geeks (Drew) out there, you can read about its specs here.

Well, not much has happened today. At night I went out for dinner with the Goh's. Unc & Aunt Goh and their daughter Aunt Emily and little Rebeca and Reuben. Rueben is like a ball. Round and cute. Hahaha, really cute baby who always smiles. I would be meeting Aunt Emily and her children in Melbourne quite often if I decide to go their church in City Central.

Tomorrow would be my 2nd time playing BOWLING this year! Can't wait! I would be meeting up with my ex college mates! It would be a joy to see them again even though it's just been a few months of not seeing each other.

I would start packing next week. Haven't bought the essentials yet. Would be getting all of it next week. Hope I have enough time to spend with my mates before I fly AWAY...... And that's so GAY!

Rhyming king! LOL =P *someone shouts "NOOB"*

Signing off now. Have a great weekend you'll!

18DL: JPJ & Ozland

Today I had to take half the day off(again)... I feel bad. Ah Chung would probably re-consider writing an awesome testimonial... DAMMIT! Well, I had a good reason though. I took my QTI ( trial driving test) this afternoon and it went smoothly. =) Men are just born drivers hahaha.

I would be taking my real JPJ test next Tuesday. Hopefully I could get my license by Thursday! I was just looking at properties in Clayton and I came across Ozland House. It's a lot better than Rusden but I need like 3 more housemates. =( Hopefully I can move out of Rusden and settle in Ozland next March when the others come over.

There's many types of townhouses ads by Ozland from the Atlantic series to 32 Bettina. All fully funished and student friendly. All close to Monash U, public transportation and shops... Lots of it.

This is what is provided by the Atlantic series which my eyes are stuck on.

6 Atlantic Street, Clayton VIC 3168

This site has three town houses. Each town house has four(FOUR!!!) bedrooms, two bath rooms and two toilets. The town houses are brand new. Each town house also has a comfortable common area that is provided with a TV.

The lockable bedrooms are spacious and well lit.

In addition to all these, the facility has the following :

  • Lockable fully furnished bed rooms: bed, desk, lamps and wardrobe
  • Central heating and cooling
  • Internet connections in each bed room
  • Provision of telephone line in each bedroom
  • Fully furnished kitchen – gas stove, oven, microwave oven, refrigerators, rice cooker, pots and pans, appropriate cooking utensils, plates, cups and glasses and storage places for each student
  • Meals area including dining table and chairs
  • Common room equipped with TV and DVD player
  • laundry equipment enabling students to wash, dry and iron their clothes.
  • Ample storage areas for suitcases and unused materials
  • Security alarm systems & smoke detectors
  • Smart lighting controls

It is within walking distance to Monash University – Clayton campus. And it is also some 15 minutes away from Clayton Train Station and Clayton shopping area.

Oh boy, looking at it and thinking of my mates coming over is just paranormal! I'm pumped with adraneline! ROAR!

This townhouse is pretty darn good. Location wise... close to Monash.

I'll just have to wait till next year and talk to my dad about this stuff. Hopefully we can have a K.K. community in this little house.

And the rate for all these goodies? Cheap! A$ 160 p.w. (per week) for each room! Roughly A$650 to rent the whole unit with 4 friends! But an additional one or two extra mates can join us. So that's like 6 in DA HOUSE! It's also cheaper than Rusden's by what... A$30-50 man! Alright.. I've gotta cooldown. *relax ming... relax* Well I will keep you guys updated with my progress before leaving Melb.

ATTENTION!!!ATTENTION!!!ATTENTION
BOWLING!BOWLING!BOWLING!BOWLING

To all ex-IS, bowling game this Saturday at CPS Bowling Arena (8th Floor) at 2 p.m. I think it's RM 3-4 per person. (And bring some extra cash for shoe rental and yam cha etc..)

Confirm going: Jonathan Chin, Arjuna, James, Chong Chee Wen, Daniel Samraj and Flora.

Pending: Dai Dai, Regina Ho, Serena Wang, Adeline, Delhousie and Justin.

*If I missed you out, so sorry. Just sms anyone of the listed that your joining us! See you guys there!

19DL: Getting things done

Well I did not work today due to the fact that I had loads of things to do regarding my uni application. I renewed my passport, opened a HSBC bank account and payed the deposit for my 1st trimester course. Right now I'm just waiting for my Letter of Confirmation so that later I could apply for my student visa.

I'll probably be staying in Rusden House just 1-2 min walk away from Monash Engineering Department. I would be getting my Aspire 4930G-732G25 within the next three days. Hehehe...

I've called up Arjuna, James and the others, asking which Uni they would be entering. If they are going to Deakin or Monash, we could rent an apartment at Rusden just for A$ 300 per week (per unit not per person) so it's pretty darn cheap!

Front view of Rusden

Well, I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope that most of my friends that are coming would be staying somewhere near Clayton.

=)

Till then!

Adios!

20DL: A day out with my family

Well, there's only 20 days left till I leave KK to Melbourne. I would be staying somewhere near Clayton and HOPEFULLY I would move the following year somewhere closer to city central. I've been browsing through some recent pics and I've found the one where Kelvin, Peta, Sabrina and I were having choc fondue over at my place. Hahaha... good stuff eh?

This morning I went to Papar with my family and Uncle Chua (My dad's good friend). First up we went to my dad's and Uncle Chua's land which is located next to the beach. It's around an hour's drive from KK so it isn't THAT far. My parents bought loads of fish from Pekan Papar... When I say loads... it means LOADS. Dunno what are they gonna do with so much fish... Fish ball, fish noodle, fish rice. FISH FISH FISH. UGH!

You don't???

Later we chilled out at Taiwan Restaurant which serves really good beef noodles, chicken chop and it's famous 'Pig Leg' dish. Hahaha... It was GOOOOOOOOOOOD! =D

Damn.... I have loads of things to prepare in just 20 days. Plus I'm working fulltime till the 30th so I've got little time to spend with my grandparents. =(

But I can't wait till next year when the Angelas (Lu & Lau), Arjuna, Evan, James etc... are coming over! At the moment my 1st term starts around the 13th of Oct and ends at 14th of Jan. Guys... come over ASAP. =) We'll be joining the AGSC!!!! (Air Gun Society Club)

Well.. that's all for now, I'll just spend some quality family time before I leave.

P/S: Here's a joke... By me.
What did the man say to his robot when his robot broke his favorite plate?
He said, "1010010111011110101!!!!!"

An evening with ex-IS

Well, yesterday (friday) I was working as usual fixing the new Acer compact. It's a pretty compact desktop which ppl nowadays put it next to their plasma TV and stream videos and movies directly so yeah... LIVE cinema. Other than that you could serve the net, play games and music via the Acer compact. Nifty device.

I'm repairing the CPU of the Acer Com.

Anyhow, suddenly a few ppl called me up and told me if I wanna go for a movie at 3.35 p.m. In a flash I was knocking on Ah Chung's door and I asked him if I could leave early... There was a moment of silence... the odd type.

'You may GO!' WOW! That sounded like God's voice. I ran to the bus stop and went to GROWBALL ASAP.

Guess what we watched? Love Guru. It's one of those crappy plot but super funny comedy movs. Pretty darn gay. Example: B.I.B.L.E(Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) and others like B.L.O.W.M.E and C.O.C.K.

You get the point.

And then we went for bowling.. A sport I pretty much don't play and don't give a damn about.

Yeap... Longkang a few times.... BOO =( And I'm against these guys...

Image159

We played 2 games. 1st round won by Yim. And on the second the girls joined in and guess who got 1st!!!

DING DING DING MUA! =D

And then I think we went to Le Marina something like that. Later chilled at my place and play SNES! GOOOOOD SHIT!

And watched Anchorman... AGAIN.

Yim Kien Wai and Joan are leaving next week. BOO. Yim going to work at his dad's office and Joan going to AIMST. She'll probably meet up with Sue Ann, Karishma, Jeannette and Peta. =) Well all the best and yeah! Keep in touch.

Da Ora Per il Futuro

Well, loads of my college mates are leaving KK to further their studies within the next few months. So to speak I'm also leaving KK for Melbourne in Jan 2009. Would probably meet up with Arjuna, Simon, Angela, Jason and Mei Ping there.

Gosh, I haven't been updating my blog for months did I? Hahaha, well some of you would probably know that I'm currently working. Yes! WORKING. BERKERJA! I'm currently a Computer Tech. and Service Assistant Engineer(Technician) on the Servex & Acer Sales and Repair team at Highpoint Service Network K.K. which is part of the ACER INTERNATIONAL.

How did I get such a post some of you say? Well, I've been good with the hardware part in computers and I've previously worked with HSN a few years back as a trainee. So this earned me some experience in this field and a place as an assistant cuz I'm not a F.A.C.E.(Fully Acer Certified Engineer). And Ah Chung who is the Chief Tech. was previously my mentor in this area so he knows my skills and knowledge pretty darn well in this area.

The pay is so-so but I'm hoping to get as much experience as I can before leaving for Mel <--- Hope I get a liang liang (awesome) C.V. for working there. And with a liang liang C.V. I hope I get better jobs in Melbourne compared to my other mates who would probably work as a waiter/waitress or a storekeeper.

LOL?

Working at home and working at the company is totally different. *But of course you dumbass boy! They're totally different Ming!* And so I agree. In May till August I've been working at home. Detailed definition? Sleeping, playing computer games, concentrating on T.V. episodes, playing SNES, talking to Peta and learning to drive a manual vehicle. That's my version of working at home.

While in the office... well it's a different story. Basically what I do their is geeky crap. Talk & entertain the client, analyze the pc problem, scan the pc for other problems, fix the darn pc (hopefully it's under warranty just in case I or my subs screw this part up), tag/quot model parts and tell our PATIENT & LOVING clients how much they have to pay us for *accidentally*/*forgetfully* unplugging the power socket which will cost them roughly around RM80 for their careless mistakes. Image110
My workmates who are under me (Techs: Farizan and Ben). I don't quite know Mr. ??? Lol... (Could be the dai lo ban).

And one more thing... this time I can boss the trainees to do my bidding whilst I watch movies on the laptops awaiting for their new parts.

Incoming/outgoing quotation and repair summary by the techs which I have to double check and approve which will be approved later by Ah Chung.

Well... that's that! I will be updating my blog as much as possible. =) Do visit and leave comments.
